Pushkin & Pavlovsk
are two villages outside Saint Petersburg used as royal retreats.
The classical Great Palace of Pavlovsk (1781-1786) sits in the
middle of a large, elegant park.

The village of Pushkin was originally known as
Tsarskoye Selo (Tsar's Village), until it was renamed
by the Soviets in 1937 to removal the tsarist name. Today the
names are used interchangeably.
